Bianca Rantala is an Estonian-Finnish composer, musician, and conductor who creates memorable melodies, diverse harmonies, and intricate yet easily perceptible rhythms.
Rantala has led several big bands in Estonia (such as GOBB, EDBB, TALTECH BB, etc.) and works as an arranger for various orchestras and ensembles. Additionally, she performs as a guest conductor in both Finnish and Estonian jazz orchestras (TJO, NWJO, etc.) and popular music orchestras.
She also leads her own project-based string orchestra and big band, with which she has recorded two albums.
In 2023, she won the Nordic Composer Contest, and in 2020, she won the Baltic Big Band Composition competition. In 2021, she was selected as the composer for the Cologne Jazz Orchestra's "European Composers" project.
